Sing at Home:
Don't Fence Me In
A great song for combating lockdown-induced claustrophobia, Don't Fence Me In was written in 1934, with music by Cole Porter and lyrics by Robert Fletcher and Cole Porter. Watch Roy Rogers singing it in Hollywood Canteen from 1944, download the words here, and sing along to our piano accompaniment here.
Sing at Home:
Over the Rainbow
Over the Rainbow, with its soaring melody, encourages us to believe in the dream of a better future. Written for the film The Wizard of Oz (1939) at a time of worldwide crisis on the eve of the Second World War, it became the signature song of Judy Garland in her starring role as Dorothy. Watch her singing it in the film, download the words here, and sing along to our piano accompaniment here.
